There is a great new initiative to support newcomers in Germany who come from countries like Syria to enable them to be successful entrepreneurs - it's called Ideas in Motion and Infinity Institute supported the first cycle of the program and thus 8 newcomer entrepreneurs with free pitch training in May 2017.

WHAT IS IDEAS IN MOTION?

Ideas in Motion is the first Berlin-based business incubation program to be co-designed with and for newcomer entrepreneurs. The 5 month program is divided into two parts, the concept phase and execution phase, during which participants develop their business idea and skills through a series of intensive workshops led by Berlin’s top trainers. Coupled with one-on-one mentoring, networking events and access to legal advice, the program accompanies entrepreneurs in their process to officially founding a business in Germany.

Ideas in Motion began on March 1st 2017 with seven entrepreneurs: The first six weeks were dedicated to shaping their business ideas in intensive workshops with experienced trainers and experts from well-known Berlin institutions as Service Innovation Labs, Aberkyn, Sasserath Munzinger Plus, and Infinity Institute. Using methods like Design Thinking, applying various business-model-concepts and many pitch training sessions, the participants were able to find out whether or not there is a market for their ideas, which business model fits their idea and how to introduce themselves and their project to a wider public.

Since mid-April the workshops have moved from ideation and theory to more practical skills like marketing, financial planning, tax and legal regulations around founding a small business.
